Step 1

Using sharp scissors, cut several pieces from various colors of felt:

  • Cut three felt tulip flower petals that are 2 1/2 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches wide.
  • Cut three felt tulip flower petals that are 2 1/4 inches tall and 1 1/4 inches wide.
  • Cut a 1-inch-wide and 6-inch-long piece of yellow felt for the center of the tulip flower.
  • Cut a 1/4-inch-wide by 16-inch-long piece of green felt to wrap the stem.

Step 2

Adhere one end of the 16-inch piece of green felt to the end of the wire stem with a hot glue gun. Wrap the felt around the stem, stopping once in a while to add more glue. When you reach the other end of the wire, use the hot glue gun to adhere the end of the felt to the wire.

Step 3

Use sharp scissors to cut 1/2-inch slits along the long side of the yellow felt.

Step 4

To create the center of the tulip, attach one end of the felt-covered stem on one end of the yellow felt fringe piece with a hot glue gun. The fringe should be facing away from you. Run a bead of hot glue along the uncut side of the fringe. Roll the fringe around the stem until you come to the end and then glue in place.

Step 5

Place hot glue on the small, flat edge of the smaller tulip flowers. Adhere the smaller tulip flower petals around the bottom and sides of the yellow tulip center.

Step 6

Adhere the larger tulip petals around the smaller tulip petals by gluing them over the smaller tulip petals.

Step 7

Use a sharp pair of scissors to cut two 7-inch-tall by 2-inch-wide tulip leaves from green felt.

Step 8

Run a bead of hot glue along the bottom center of the tulip leaf. Adhere the leaf to the stem by folding it around the stem. You may need to add a little more glue to complete the fold around the stem. Repeat the process on the opposite side of the stem with the second leaf.
